The Tchou Tchouma Tchouma Tchoupitoulas Muskogean Choctaws pre-existed before colonizers came to the City of the Red Sun. Tchou Tchouma means, City of the Red Sun, Tchoupitoulas means “ People of the River” The Tchoupitoulas Choctaws paddled in their boats up and down the Canal at Bayou St. John, which was earlier called Bayou Tchoupitoulas. The different Clans traded along the Mississippi making ( Tchou Tchouma) New Orleans one of the most frequented territories of all the Indigenous Southeastern Tribes and Nations. The Copper Colored People still exist there today, reclassified and labeled as Colored, Negro, Mulatto by the colonizers who were appointed to positions as record keepers and Tribal Counting sources.

Today the Tchoupitoulas Choctaws brings forth the Spirit of the Aborigine Ancestors vibrantly to life with real history and real life culture of the New Orleans Autochthon Aboriginals of New Orleans.

The Masking Indians has never lost touch with their Indigenous Roots and this is what the Tchou Tchouma Tchoupitoulas passionately revive in this new time, the omnipresence of the true New Orleans Aboriginals, the entire Chahta, Chitimacha, Atakapa, Natchez, Natchidoches, Taensa, Houma, Tchoupitoulas Aborigines to now awaken, stand and bring their presence forward with dignity and pride to once again accept your role as the Original people of the South Eastern region.

The changing of the guard of real historical information is now coming forth to the masses. Documented evidence, archaeological findings revealing the graves, artifacts, carvings and burial mounds and sights located right there in City Park, which is right there on Bayou St. John, Tchoupitoulas Territory.
